3RD Season

The indie rock, alternative singer/songwriter duo, 3RD Season, may be new to the music scene. But Nene (Anethea Veenman-Hodges), founder and lead singer for the group, is a legal advisor and veteran novelist. Under the nom de plume A. E. H. Veenman, Nene's writing career spans over twenty years. Jess (Jessica L. Morrison) hails from Cork City, Ireland with an engineering degree. She's lived in San Diego, CA in 1996 where she played guitar for the all-girl cover band, 'Bombshell'. She also performed in the duo, 'The Gift' in San Diego coffee shops, open mics and local clubs such as the Casbah and the Boulevard. Jess and Nene came together in 2016 to form '3RD Season', the name Nene carried with her since high school. They released their first demo, 'Brainchild', available for streaming and purchase in Summer 2018. The ladies state they are the exception to the idea of rock and roll, being hardworking moms with college degrees in U.S. Law and Chemical Engineering respectively. As Symphonic Storytellers, they coin their music the Diversity Genre™, a natural evolution of styles as opposed to fusion. Each song grows organically from Alternative Rock to a splash of Soulful Pop with a sprinkle of World Music instrumentation--and anything in between.

It didn't matter if you were Black or White. If the music was good, you were good.

Did You Miss Me?

No? Don't worry, I don't take it personally. Though, I probably should. But, in your defense, I didn't get to write my post for this week. I've got a pretty good excuse though: American, here. So, Thursday the 24th was... Continue Reading →

We could achieve any goal, become anything we wanted to be in life...as long as we put our minds to it. The color of our skin could not hold us back.

So, What’s This?

The purpose of this blog may be a bit different than you’re used to seeing in the music industry.
